Description
The PRAME gene, located on chromosome 22q11.22, encodes a protein composed of 509 amino acids. Classified as an autosomal cancer-testis antigen (CTA), PRAME is known to be expressed in melanoma as well as a range of other malignant tumors, such as non-small cell lung cancer, breast and ovarian carcinomas, renal cell carcinoma, leukemia, synovial sarcoma, and myxoid liposarcoma. In contrast, its expression is generally absent in normal tissues, with the exception of the testis, ovary, adrenal glands, and endometrium. ¹⁵ ¹⁶
