Description
The p40 [BC28] mouse monoclonal antibody targets an epitope specific to the p40 protein, offering a more selective alternative to traditional p63 antibodies. While p63 [4A4] detects both p63 and p40 isoforms and is widely used to identify basal epithelium in normal prostate tissue (with no expression in prostatic adenocarcinoma), p40 [BC28] provides enhanced specificity. Studies have demonstrated that p40 [BC28] shows equivalent staining to p63 in normal prostate glands and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), with no staining in prostate cancer. Unlike rabbit polyclonal p40 antibodies, p40 [BC28] does not stain macrophages, reducing background and improving diagnostic clarity.
