Description
One of the transcription factors in the GATA family is GATA-3 (GATA binding protein 3). Numerous tissues’ formation and subsequent maintenance are regulated by this 50 kDa nuclear protein. 15–19 GATA-3 has been found to have a crucial role in the differentiation of luminal cells in the mammary gland, among other functions. 18 A group of genes implicated in the development and spread of breast cancer seem to be regulated by GATA-3. 17, 18
